Art Déco Montréal invites you to join us for the award winning lecture by Michael Windover, for which he won the 2011 Phyllis Lambert Prize, Aestheticizing Mobilities – Art Deco and the Fashioning of Interwar Public Cultures.

Michael Windover holds a doctorate in Art History from the University of British Columbia. His dissertation (“Aestheticizing Mobilities: Art Deco and Fashioning of Interwar Public Cultures”) won the 2011 Phyllis Lambert Prize, administered by the Institut du patrimoine de l’UQAM, for the best dissertation or Master’s thesis on a subject of Canadian architectural history or criticism. A revised version is to be published in a series on urban patrimony in May by Presses de l’Université du Québec as Art Deco: A Mode of Mobility. Windover is currently a Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Architecture at McGill University where he undertaking research on the architecture and design of radio in Canada (c.1925-1952), from the design of radio cabinets in the home to transmission stations constructed by the CBC.
